Algarve International Circuit more commonly knows as Portimão Circuit is located in Portimão, Algarve, Portugal. This circuit held it’s maiden Formula 1 World Championship GP in 2020. The circuit was constructed in 2008 and was used for Winter Testing in 2008-09. This track’s characteristics are much like other old purpose built racing tracks due to its undulating nature. This track has several terrain changes and it feels like a roller coaster with its ups and downs. 2020 was a unique year and it got this track on to the calendar. In 2020 Race Day produced a great race in where Lewis Hamilton broke Michael Schumacher’s record and created a new record of 92 GP wins!
The 2021 Season will be the second official Formula 1 World Championship GP. Though this track is narrow which makes overtaking a bit difficult, however, the undulating nature of the track, makes for a spectacle as the cars go up and down as they follow the unique terrain of the track. Let’s see what the track has in store for us as we approach the 2021 Portuguese GP!
